Charlotte Seid manages the daily operation of the Benthic Invertebrate Collection, a resource supporting biodiversity research, interdisciplinary projects, education, and outreach at Scripps and beyond.
During research expeditions with Curator Greg Rouse and collaborators, she preserves and documents voucher specimens to help make these priceless materials discoverable to the scientific community. She also serves on graduate thesis committees for collection-based projects. Prior to joining Scripps in 2017, she studied molecular biology and worked at the New England Aquarium and the Ocean Genome Legacy Center at Northeastern University.
